Peach "Harnas" ("Harnas Peach") was bred by well-known Canadian breeders by crossing varieties "Harbinger" and "Crosshavan". Belongs to the category of the most popular varieties of dessert destination.

Description and characteristics of the variety

Harnas peach forms tall and fairly winter-hardy trees. Fruits weighing up to 170-180 g, spherical shape, bright red color, without pubescence. The pulp is yellow, juicy, sweet and sour taste, easily separated from the bone, very tasty.

Harnas peaches fully ripen in late July or early August. Ripe fruits do not fall from trees, which can be attributed to the undeniable advantages of the variety. Peaches of this variety are characterized by external attractiveness and are very much appreciated due to their presentation. Harvest is suitable for transportation within four days after removal.

Rules and terms of landing

Harnas peach seedlings are characterized by a fairly high survival rate. The timing of planting peach is completely dependent on temperature and weather conditions in the climatic zone. The closer the cultivation region is to the southern regions, the more preferable it is to carry out planting in the autumn.

The correct planting of peach seedlings is based on a competent choice of a site for growing and preparing planting pits about a couple of months before planting. The dimensions of the standard landing pit should be approximately 70 x 70 x 70 cm. A prerequisite is the installation of a support peg, to which the planted plant should subsequently be attached. The optimal time for planting is in March or early April, and planting pits in this case should be harvested from the fall.

How to prune a peach

The pit is filled with fertile soil mixed with complex fertilizers, compost and rotted manure. This mixture is poured into the pit, after which the soil, which must be well compacted, is poured on top. Further planting of peach is carried out in accordance with the following recommendations:

  • pour a mound of fertile soil in the pit;
  • trim the damaged tips of the root system by about 0.5-1.5 cm;
  • install the seedling and spread the root system, while the location of the root neck of the seedling should be 3-5 cm above the soil level.

Next, a neat powder of the peach root system is made, abundant watering and tying of the plant to the supporting peg. Trunk circles are recommended to be mulched with a small layer (about 4-5 cm) of humus, high-quality compost or ordinary wood sawdust.

The variety "Harnas Peach" is quite unpretentious, therefore, with proper planting, top dressing in the first three years should be minimal. Particular attention should be paid to watering plants, after which shallow, but thorough loosening of the soil is carried out. When choosing material for planting, it must be remembered that there is a higher probability of quick adaptation in one-year or two-year seedlings.

Gardeners reviews

The variety is characterized by responsiveness to high agricultural technology and the timely implementation of irrigation activities. It is recommended to water peach trees in hot weather every ten days, using approximately two buckets per plant, but care must be taken to ensure that the water around the trunk circle does not stagnate.

Experienced gardeners recommend rationing peach with ovaries and harvest. Otherwise, the fruits become small, the growth and development of the plant slows down. As a result, the tree is severely depleted and often freezes even when exposed to even minor frosts.

How to plant a peach

Harnas peach, according to gardeners, compares favorably with very high winter hardiness not only in wood, but also in flower buds. The species has a tolerance to curly hair, which is very important when grown in home gardening. "Harnas Peach" has earned a very good reputation among both growers and gardeners and small farmers engaged in the cultivation and marketing of early fruit products.
